RACGP aged care clinical guide (Silver Book)
Silver Book - Part C
Last revised: 20 Jul 2023
There are important support teams and services available to assist health service providers and the family/carers of patients who have severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, namely the Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS), severe behaviour response teams (SBRTs) and the Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP).
There are local resources for dementia support, including resources available via local PHNs, local health service dementia-specific rehabilitation services and in-reach and psychiatry services specific to a GP’s geographic location.
Refer to Part A: Dementia and Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia for further information about the clinical management of dementia.
