Training practice and supervisor payments

AGPT accredited training practices and supervisors who have a registrar training in their practice will receive nationally consistent payments administered by Services Australia.

To receive these payments your practice must:  

  • be an accredited AGPT training practice 
  • have a GP registrar employed in your training practice 
  • have a PRODA organisation account set-up and link it to Health Professional Online Services (HPOS)

Payment amounts are set by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and paid according to the MM classification of the accredited training practice as set out below.  
 
Practice payments will be paid to the practice quarterly in advance. 
Teaching payments will be paid monthly (in-arrears)* per registrar, per semester as follows from Semester 1 2026:

Payments paid directly from RACGP

Supervisor Professional Development Payments Paid Direct to Supervisors
The following supervisor professional developments can be claimed from the RACGP in accordance with the Flexible Funds Policy. Please contact your training coordinator for more information.

Supervisor Professional Development Payments Paid Direct to Practices
The RACGP will provide a supervisor professional development stipend to the training site each semester in keeping with the anticipated SPD hours. Training sites with a registrar in any term other than extension awaiting fellowship will receive $500 per registrar per semester, capped at 4 registrars (maximum 12 hours).

Payment will occur automatically midway through each semester. Payment will be made into the account recorded in the financial details section of the practice profile in the Training Management System (TMS). It is the training site’s responsibility to ensure account details are correct.

Although stipends are paid to the training site, it is expected that the training site will distribute the stipend in full to supervisors proportional to their involvement in supervisor professional development.
