There’s never been a better time to develop your skills to help shape the future of general practice.
The RACGP Future Leaders program gives you confidence to lead change in your community. The program is fully funded by the RACGP and attracts over 40 CPD hours with a combination of Educational Activity and Peer Review Learning Activities.
The program helps identify your individual values underpinning your leadership behaviours and examines techniques for driving change to create a positive outcome for the future of general practice.
The program prepares both current and future GP leaders by critically evaluating and implementing evidence-based methodologies in leadership, connecting an ever-broadening network of alumni, and allowing new and relevant ideas to come to the fore and be put into action.

My most enjoyable experiences were in the regular facilitated "action learning groups" (small group learning). I very much enjoyed connecting with GP peers who were on the same journey, and mutually sharing our experiences with applying the lessons from the Program into our respective projects.
Dr Michael Tam
2022 alumni and 2022 Future Leaders President's Medal recipient
The Future Leaders Program gave me a chance to better understand my values and qualities as a leader and connect with an inspiring group of peers who are actively engaged in driving positive change within general practice and the broader community.
Dr Catherine Pendrey (2020 alumni)
From the opening workshops, through to the 'active group learning' meetings each month, there was plenty of opportunity to discuss concepts and ideas with likeminded GPs. We each discussed our journeys in leadership so far and went on to develop our own project in the space of most interest to us. This was a unique experience which allowed us to go beyond our day to day practice as a GP and provide scope for what might be possible in the future.
Dr Andrew Leech (2020 alumni)
Specialist GPs are often turned to as the default or de facto leader in many situations - for instance, within the clinic, a local health committee, medical education setting, and others . . . The Future Leaders Program is a fantastic initiative by the RACGP to invest in its members as the future of the profession and greater health system and I encourage my peers to take this opportunity
