Benefits of the Vision for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
The RACGP has developed a resource on the benefits of the Vision for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (PDF 2.5 MB).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples face considerable health inequities driven by factors such as socioeconomic determinants of health and resulting in gaps in life expectancy.
Implementation of the RACGP’s Vision is expected to improve access to general practice and address the health gap between different population groups, as well as putting primary healthcare on a sustainable footing.
Further resources to support the implementation of the Vision
The Vision requires a commitment from all those who will benefit from its implementation, including health providers, consumers and funders.
The RACGP is in the process of developing several supporting documents to encourage successful implementation of the Vision, included resources targeted towards consumers.
