Both the Fellowship Support Program (FSP) and Practice Experience Program - Standard (PEP ST) are programs on the GPE Pathway. It is compulsory for registrars to have successfully completed either of these programs or otherwise have GP recognition with Services Australia prior to enrolment in any RACGP Fellowship exams.
Applicants for the GPE Pathway are required to have their general practice experience assessed to determine exam and fellowship eligibility. For step-by-step instructions on how to complete your GPE application, please read both the Applying for a General Practice Experience Assessment Guidance Document and the Assessment of General Practice Experience Policy.
Your application will be reviewed by RACGP staff to ensure we have all the mandatory documentation. An application is only deemed complete when there is no further feedback requesting information or documentation. The application is then referred to our RACGP assessors for assessment. Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application within ten weeks of submission of a complete application. Unmet requests for further information may delay assessment time beyond this period.
Once the assessment is complete you will receive an email with your outcome attached. The RACGP will determine if you have or will satisfactorily complete your program requirements. If you have met all exam eligibility criteria, you may enrol in the RACGP Fellowship examinations when enrolments are open. To monitor exam eligibility, applicants who do not receive a valid outcome signifying their exam eligibility must obtain a subsequent outcome when their experience requirements have been met.
