With a multidisciplinary approach to education, policy and advocacy, the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMHSC) strives towards optimal mental health and wellbeing of the Australian population by supporting GPs to deliver primary mental healthcare.

The GPMHSC was established in 2002 and was included as part of the Better Access to Psychiatrist, Psychologists and General Practitioners through the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) initiative in 2006.
