The RACGP has provided a submission to the ANZSCO Comprehensive Review calling for the occupation of general practitioner to be reclassified in the ANZSCO to recognise it as a medical specialty and to recognise the post-hospital training completed by GPs. The current ANZSCO classification does not recognise GPs as medical specialists and groups GPs with medical registrars because the ANAZSCO does not recognise the post-hospital training completed by GPs.
