Joint Colleges Training Services (JCTS)
Joint Colleges Training Services Pty Ltd (JCTS) was created in 2022 as a joint venture of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
JCTS is a nationwide organisation which delivers cultural education for GPs and provides GP training support to the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service sector. Their team of highly skilled cultural educators and mentors, weave clinical and cultural education together to create greater access, acceptance and participation in healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
Strong communities and healthy futures through embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways in GP Training.”
The goal of JCTS is to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to deliver best practice GP training in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, ensuring generations thrive, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors are nurtured and grown, and every GP is equipped to provide culturally safe health care.
About the artwork
This artwork has been produced by Indigenous artist Emma-Louise Mulganai Hollingsworth, and represents intertwining traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellness practices with Western medicine, showing that these two medicine systems can exist harmoniously through the correct education and support.
