GPs in rural and remote areas can face challenges that are quite different to urban practitioners, such as distance and isolation, lack of or out-dated resources, harsh environments and less professional support.
They must be creative, flexible, resourceful, and need a range of skills to be able to deal with situations where they may be the only person able to provide the level of care needed.
RACGP Rural delivers education and training activities to develop or maintain clinical skills and support lifelong learning.
