CBT Skills for GPs - October

Online via gplearning

RACGP Rural's Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) skills for GPs is a fully online course designed to equip you with foundational CBT skills. It focuses on the practical application of cognitive restructuring techniques and behavioural strategies to support the management of common mental health presentations in general practice.

The course comprises six interactive learning modules, including a pre-course reflection activity and final quiz. You can complete each module at your own pace.

This course is a CPD Approved Activity. GPs can earn 3.5 EA and 5 RP CPD hours.

The course is also GPMHSC-accredited for MH CPD and FPS CPD.

The meeting supports discussion of current challenges, real-world experiences, and practical considerations for general practice.

Online Emergency Medicine for Rural GPs

Designed and facilitated by experienced rural GPs and emergency specialists, the emergency medicine for rural GPs workshop aims to enhance rural emergency medicine skills using case scenarios that reflect the challenges faced when living and working in rural and remote communities.

This online workshop involves four, small-group interactive case scenario discussions, exploring critical considerations involved in managing rural emergency cases, packaging patients for retrieval, communicating effectively with retrieval teams, debriefing and self-care. All the scenarios included in the workshop are written by experienced rural GPs from actual cases.
GPs can earn 1.5 EA and 4 RP CPD hours.

FPS CPD Case-Based Discussions

The Focussed Psychological Strategies (FPS) CPD case-based discussions is a continuing professional development activity that has been designed to support GPs who are already implementing FPS with patients, evaluating their practice, and further developing their skills. Each participant will present a case and through peer-group discussions, participants will extend their FPS skills by exploring the intervention methods they currently use. Participants will also review challenging cases and develop strategies for addressing barriers to achieving best practice.

This activity is offered on Zoom and comprises of four, two-hour case-based discussion sessions from 5.30-7.30pm AEDT, Wednesday 14 October, 28 October, 11 November and 25 November 2026.

Cost: $395 for RACGP members and $495 for non-members.

This course is a CPD Approved Activity under the RACGP CPD Program (eligible for 9 hours) and accredited as an FPS CPD course by the GPMHSC.

Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Orange, NSW

Join our interactive, full-day workshop led by experienced doctors and sonographers who will guide you through the practical applications of point-of-care ultrasound in a general practice setting.

Using Butterfly iQ+ distributed by BigGreen, you'll gain confidence and competence across a wide range of essential diagnostic techniques.

You'll rotate through six stations; eFAST, deep venous thrombosis, heart and lung ultrasound, intravenous line placement and foreign object retrieval, musculoskeletal soft tissue and first trimester transabdominal obstetric ultrasound.

This workshop is a RACGP CPD Accredited Activity, approved for 10 CPD hours (5 hours Education Activities and 5 hours Reviewing Performance) and eligible for all categories of the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

The workshop runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm and offered to RACGP members at $1,095 (incl. GST), registrar members at $765 (incl. GST) and to non-members at $1,425 (incl. GST).

WA Fellowship Ceremony 2026


Save the date for the 2026 Fellowship Ceremony to be held on Saturday 31 October 2026. RACGP members who receive their Fellowship ratification between 1 September 2025 and 30 September 2026 will be invited to attend.

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is a specialist general practice qualification accredited by the Australian Medical Council. To formally recognise the hard work and dedication required to achieve FRACGP, FRACGP-RG or FARGP, we invite eligible New Fellows, FARGP and FRACGP-RG's, along with your family and friends to join us on 31 October to celebrate.

Online Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training

The Online Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST) course provides GPs with the knowledge and practical skills needed to become Medicare-accredited providers of Foccussed Psychological Strategies (FPS).

This fully online course enables you to complete all training requirements from your home or practice, supported by a blend of interactive digital learning and peer group learning.

Please note: Level 1 Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) is a prerequisite for enrolment in the Online FPS ST course.

The course is GPMHSC accredited and on completion, you can gain FPS provider registration with Medicare to access MBS numbers 2721, 2723, 2725 and 2727.
