Gambling and Its Links To Mental Health and Other Addictions

This interactive CPD webinar explores gambling harm and its links to mental health and other addictions, using lived experience storytelling to support GPs in recognising, discussing, and responding to gambling related harm in practice. Delivered by Three Sides of the Coin, the session combines short video stories, Q&A, and discussion to help reduce stigma, build confidence to ask about gambling, and support appropriate referral pathways in the NT.

CBT Skills for GPs - July

Online via gplearning

RACGP Rural's Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) skills for GPs is a fully online course designed to equip you with foundational CBT skills. It focuses on the practical application of cognitive restructuring techniques and behavioural strategies to support the management of common mental health presentations in general practice.

The course comprises six interactive learning modules, including a pre-course reflection activity and final quiz. You can complete each module at your own pace.

This course is a CPD Approved Activity. GPs can earn 3.5 EA and 5 RP CPD hours.

The course is also GPMHSC-accredited for MH CPD and FPS CPD.

Cost: RACGP members $495

Caring for Patients Over 35: Preconception To Pregnancy

This Antenatal and Postnatal Care SIG education session will support GPs managing the increasing number of patients aged over 35 who are planning pregnancy or navigating antenatal care. Using a case?based approach, the session will explore practical decision?making, risk assessment, and referral pathways across the continuum of care.

Dr Ross Turner, fertility and gynaecology specialist, will discuss preconception care, initial assessment and fertility options..

Dr Justin Tucker, obstetrician and fertility specialist, will explore managing pregnancy over 35, including recognising red flags, anticipating complications and knowing when to refer.

Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Toowoomba, Qld

Join our interactive, full-day workshop led by experienced doctors and sonographers who will guide you through the practical applications of point-of-care ultrasound in a general practice setting.

Using Butterfly iQ+ distributed by Big Green, you'll gain confidence and competence across a wide range of essential diagnostic techniques.

You'll rotate through six stations; eFAST, deep venous thrombosis, heart and lung ultrasound, intravenous line placement and foreign object retrieval, musculoskeletal soft tissue and first trimester transabdominal obstetric ultrasound.

This workshop is a RACGP CPD Accredited Activity, approved for 10 CPD hours (5 hours Education Activities and 5 hours Reviewing Performance) and eligible for all categories of the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

The workshop runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm and offered to RACGP members at $1,095 (incl. GST), registrar members at $765 (incl. GST) and to non-members at $1,425 (incl. GST).
