Letter to the DoH re Draft Fifth National Mental Health Plan

Last updated 3 June 2019

Summary

6 December 2016

The Australian Government Department of Health released a draft Fifth National Mental Health Plan in October 2016. The Fifth Plan is designed to establish a national approach for collaborative government efforts in mental health over the next five years. The final draft will supersede the Fourth Plan released in 2009.

The RACGP thanks the Department of Health (DoH) for the opportunity to comment on the draft Fifth Plan in this letter, which outlines concerns with a lack of detail on workforce issues and how the draft Fifth Plan aligns with other mental health reforms.
