The RACGP has provided a response to the National Suicide Prevention Office on the draft Advice on the National Suicide Prevention Strategy. The RACGP’s response reinforces the important role of general practice in mental health and preventing suicide, and that longer consultations need to be better remunerated. It outlines the areas that need to be emphasised and prioritised in the Advice on the Strategy, which includes support for men and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and trauma-informed care.
