Supporting transgender and gender-diverse people experiencing violence
Join Dr Wei-May Su, Chair, RACGP Specific Interests Abuse and Violence in Families, Associate Professor Jennifer Neil, Deputy Chair, and facilitators Dr Katie Williamson and Dr Samantha Goss for a discussion on supporting transgender and gender-diverse people affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence.

This SIG meeting will explore the experiences of people affected by violence and the role of general practice in providing safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed care. Participants will discuss practical approaches to recognising, responding to, and supporting people experiencing violence.

In this first session, Dr Alex Romain, Chair, and Dr Greg Malcher, Deputy Chair, will outline the SIG’s vision, priorities, and opportunities, and invite members to help shape its future direction.

Discussion will focus on key areas in men’s health, including preventative care, mental health, chronic disease, and strategies to better engage men in general practice.

From audits to publication: Research in UCCs
Many urgent care centres undertake audits and quality improvement activities, but moving this work towards publication can be challenging.

In this Urgent and Emergency Presentations to Primary Care Specific Interest group (UEPPC-SIG) meeting we will be joined by Associate Professor Nigel Barr, Discipline Lead for Paramedicine at the University of the Sunshine Coast, as he shares practical strategies for developing quality improvement projects into publishable research and contributing to the urgent care evidence base.
