• Hold current Australian medical registration – please note that this registration can be general, provisional or limited so long as practice location requirements, to allow access to a Medicare Provider number under PEP, are met
• Have a job or a job offer delivering general practice services in Australia in Modified Monash Model (MMM) areas 2–7

General Practice Experience Pathway

The PEPEA is a test which comprises clinical applied knowledge questions and situational judgement test (SJT) questions. There are 100 questions on the PEPEA.

• Accept program agreement and pay term invoices
• Complete application for a Medicare provider number and access A1 rebates with PEP provider number for entire program duration and in post-educational phase
• Complete educational requirements as outlined in the Satisfactory completion framework

• Applying for a General Practice Experience Assessment
• Assessment of General Practice Experience
• General Practice Experience Pathway – Exam Eligibility

• Applied Knowledge Test (AKT)
• Key Feature Problem (KFP), and
• Dependent on the time of sitting - Objective Structure Clinical Exam (OSCE), Remote Clinical Examination (RCE), or Clinical Competency Exam (CCE).

You can’t sit any exams until you’ve completed all PEP ST requirements.

Once you’ve passed your exams, you can apply for Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP).

• As a Fellow of the RACGP, a GP can work unsupervised anywhere in Australia
