PEP Standard (PEP ST)

International Medical Graduates (IMGs) should refer to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for information on Assessment pathways for IMGs seeking to qualify for medical registration in Australia.

Meet eligibility requirements for the PEP ST

  • hold current Australian medical registration – please note that this registration can be general, provisional or limited so long as practice location requirements, to allow access to a Medicare Provider number under PEP, are met
  • have a job or a job offer delivering general practice services in Australia in the Modified Monash Model (MMM) areas 2–7.

General Practice Experience Pathway

Sit and pass the PEP Entry Assessment (PEPEA)

The PEPEA is a test which comprises clinical applied knowledge questions and situational judgement test (SJT) questions. There are 100 questions on the PEPEA.

Participate in the PEP ST

  • Accept Program agreement and pay term invoices
  • Complete application for a Medicare Provider number and access A1 rebates with PEP provider number for entire program duration and in post-educational phase
  • Complete educational requirements as outlined in the Satisfactory completion framework

Sit and pass the RACGP Fellowship Exams

You cannot sit any exams until you’ve completed the requirements of the PEP ST.

Apply for RACGP Fellowship

Once you’ve passed your exams, you can apply for Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP).
