National updates

MBS items for phone and video consultations now available

Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers for the delivery of telephone and video consultations are now available.

The RACGP website provides summary information on these item numbers.

Further information is available from the DoH website.

Resources developed to support GPs in conducting telehealth consultations are available via the RACGP website.

NEW Patient alert posters

The RACGP Patient alert posters have been updated.

These posters have been designed for you to add your practice contact details. This will enable you to provide instructions on how you will manage the patient before they enter the practice. This may include asking them to apply a mask and perform hand hygiene before entering or directing the patient to another location, such as one of the pop-up respiratory clinics being established.

RACGP Events

The RACGP is in close contact with the nation’s top medical experts and will move to postpone or cancel upcoming major conferences in the coming days.

Smaller events and workshops will continue as planned, unless attendee or presenter numbers fall to an unsustainable level.

In response to COVID-19, the RACGP will seek to use digital technology to deliver events, seminars and workshops over the coming months.

Where face-to-face events continue, we would ask the following of attendees:

  • If you’re feeling unwell, please do not attend any of our face to face events (check the latest Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA) guidelines for the symptoms to monitor for)
  • If you have travelled internationally in the past 14 days, or are in close contact with someone who has, we kindly ask you to not attend any of the face-to-face events.

The health and safety of our GP workforce in these uncertain times is paramount and we will continue to closely liaise with our nation’s health experts every day to review and test our current positon. Registered participants will be notified if changes are made.

Please email events@racgp.org.au if you have any questions.
