About the Committee
The Women in General Practice Committee is a Victorian Faculty committee established by female GPs to represent, support and promote female GPs and women’s health. We report to the RACGP Victoria Council.
The committee is made up of female GPs in different phases of their career who are keen to work collaboratively, and to mentor and support each other to take on new roles and leadership opportunities. We rotate our Chair position annually and deputy positions quarterly to support and mentor new leadership opportunities.
We work within advocacy, education, research, and policy. We also organise and facilitate an annual conference, as well as educational events to showcase career directions for women in general practice, and provide opportunities to meet, support and network with other GPs.
Please look out for us, use us, connect with us, join us.
We are bigger and louder if we all join together.
The aim of the committee is to:
- Elevate, educate, empower and encourage women in general practice (the 4 Es!)
- Identify and work to meet the unique interests, needs and challenges of women in general practice
- Empower female GPs to reach their full professional capacity.
