I am a GP with 15 years of experience. I graduated from Medical School in 1999 in London, UK and completed GP training in 2006 in the UK before emigrating to Australia in 2012. Since that time, I have been involved in the RACGP since 2015, advocating for GPs and using my passion for general practice to represent my peers.

I have shown people management and leadership in multiple roles through my years as a GP in the NHS, where I chaired the GP forum, a council of local GPs, and the LMC (an interface between Primary and Secondary Care) to my current roles as Medical Director, RACGP board member VIC faculty, Member RACGP IMG committee and my role as Regional Medical Director for Victoria for a large corporation. I have gained a wealth of experience in these many varied roles and various clinical settings. I have worked in Public Hospitals (NHS), General Practice, Private Practice and Urgent Care settings. Through these posts I have acquired a number of skills and a wealth of experience which I can bring to help cascade purpose, vision and strategy. My roles involve business development, quality assessment (dealing with Significant Events Analysis, overseeing complaints, managing CPD and Accreditation) and improving medical care and health promotion within the team. I have worked to financial and clinical care targets and have a keen interest in health economics.

I am currently undertaking a Masters in Medical and Healthcare Law at Melbourne University. Through my studies I am developing and advanced and integrated understanding of health and medical law. This is improving my technical skills allowing me to provide expert judgment, better interpretation of events and risk. The process of studying this course is enhancing and improving my presentation, research and analysis skillset. It is increasing my expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills and allowing me to provide concise accurate advice both in clinical and theoretical settings in healthcare.

I always strive to improve teamwork within the centres and helped with workplace resolution and I have excellent interpersonal skill and literacy skills. I work well within a team and in leadership roles. I have high standards both clinically and ethically. I am experienced in developing, implementing and introducing programs both quality, financial and business. I am experienced in report writing and presentation and comfortable delivering to different audiences.

I have high standards ethically and with respect to clinical care and service delivery. I share these with my peers and colleagues. I believe in quality care and best practice and monitor and actively manage clinical issues to achieve resolution. I have excellent communication and IT skills which I use to enhance my leadership skills and promote team working and excellent service provision.

I have an interest in Work Cover and Occupational Health and am a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine. I am registered as a MATOD prescriber and have AOD advanced training from the RACGP. I have recently been invited to join the Medical Panels.

I am an advocate for grass root General Practitioners and see primary care as pivotal to the health of patients and the future of healthcare.
