Dr Vahid Masoumi is a Specialist General Practitioner practising in Melbourne with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, medical education, quality improvement, and professional leadership.
After graduating from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Dr Masoumi practised as a general practitioner before relocating to Australia. He subsequently attained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and now works as a GP and clinical leader in metropolitan Melbourne, delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care to a culturally and linguistically diverse community.
Dr Masoumi has a longstanding commitment to advancing the general practice profession through education, assessment, and quality improvement. He serves as a PESCI Assessor and Chair, contributes to the assessment of international medical graduates, supervises medical students, and is an AGPAL General Practice Surveyor. He has also contributed to several national and international clinical quality initiatives, including as a reviewer and author for the RACGP's First Do No Harm project, a Clinical Reviewer for HealthPathways Melbourne, and a reviewer for international primary care conferences.
His professional interests include preventive health, chronic disease management, medical education, clinical governance, patient safety, digital health, and building a sustainable, high-quality general practice workforce. As a member of the RACGP Victoria Faculty Council, Dr Masoumi is committed to advocating for Victorian GPs, strengthening standards in general practice, supporting the next generation of practitioners, and ensuring the perspectives of frontline clinicians are reflected in College policy, advocacy, and decision-making.
