Northern Territory Faculty Council

The NT Faculty Council advises on activities related to patient care, clinical practice, education, continuing professional development, and research within the faculty. The Council comprises dedicated and committed GPs who contribute, on behalf of all NT members, to faculty policy and advocate on behalf of the profession.

The NT Faculty Council is focused on ensuring the pipeline of GPs into the NT is sufficient and supported to deliver health care across all regions of the Territory. This includes the GP Registrar pipeline, International Medical Graduates and General Practitioners in regional and remote NT.

The NT Faculty Council is focused on ensuring the uniqueness of general practice and rural generalism in remote areas of the Northern Territory is acknowledged, understood and promoted

The NT Faculty Council is focused on excellence in transitions of care between general practice and NT hospitals. This includes admission and discharge, outpatient services, palliative care and hospital in the home.

The NT Faculty Council is focused on supporting initiatives the bring professional satisfaction and income back to General Practice, and ensuring sustainability of General Practice especially in areas of workforce shortage
