We typically receive a large number of applications per job opening, which we take the time to review and respond to. We work hard to get back to applicants within one to two weeks, but sometimes it can take a little longer. Hang in there! We respect your efforts and don’t want to keep you wondering.
We are fortunate to have a lot of talented individuals who want to join our organisation. This means we are only able to follow up with applicants who closely match the specific requirements for each job. If you don’t get selected to move forward, it doesn’t mean you don’t have great skills and experience. It just means you don’t quite fit into the role as neatly as some of our other applicants. Either way you will receive an email response from us outlining an outcome.
Typically, the first stage of the interview process is a phone screen with a member of our Talent Acquisition team. Depending on the role and location, this will be followed by one or two on-site or video conference interviews/assessments.
The full interview and assessment cycle can run for three to four weeks, but we aim to move things along as fast as we can. Should you be unsuccessful following the assessment stage, you will be given the option of receiving feedback regarding your interview and the reason you were not successful.
Following your confirmation, typically two current referees, who you have recently reported to, will be contacted and you may be asked to consent to a background or criminal history check and upload identification documents.
The good bit! If you’re successful, we will contact you directly with the good news and the next steps. Please note that offers of employment are subject to the outcome of all final checks.
Following acceptance of our verbal offer, you will receive a copy of your contract of employment and position description via email. Once signed, you will then receive other onboarding documents for you to complete and return to us. Once done, you will be ready to start!
An RACGP welcome
When you commence your career at the RACGP, we will take you through a thorough induction process. Your will be assisted in your early weeks to connect and build relationships with your new manager, learn job requirements, gain knowledge, meet our people and find out more about how the RACGP operates and its impact on the community.
Within your first month you will attend our Passport Induction experience in which you will be introduced to an ambassador from each department in the organisation. During this exciting initiative, you will be given an overview of each department and gain insight into how your role might interact with them.
