Emergency Medicine & Resuscitation Update (CPR for GPs) FULL

RACGP SA&NT is offering an accredited basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course and an emergency general practice review to assist general practitioners with fulfilling their relevant requirements.


Course outline

This education session:

  • Covers basic life support (BLS) and components of advanced life support (ALS)
  • Practices coordinated resuscitation
  • Refreshes basic electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythm interpretation
  • Considers topical emergency presentations and recent changes in emergency practice.

2019.1 OSCE Preparation Course - Darwin

The RACGP SA&NT are pleased to announce the addition of the '2019.1 OSCE Preparation Course - Darwin' to further assist candidates with preparing for the 2019.1 RACGP Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Lead by NT Assessment Panel Chair Dr Stratos Roussos, this course will include an in-depth review of the Aboriginal Health, VIVA and Physical Examination cases with interactive sessions facilitated by experienced NT Examiners and conclude with a Q&A session. This course has been developed to precede the 2019.1 Simulated OSCE Exam Workshop - Darwin on Saturday 13 April 2019.

Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Alice Springs

The 'Introduction to point-of-care ultrasound for rural GPs' Active Learning Module (ALM) is designed to support rural GPs to increase their understanding of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound in the diagnostic process. The training is delivered by rural GPs and sonographers who are experienced in using ultrasound in their practice environment.

This full-day ALM will give general practice registrars and rural & remote GPs the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in rural general practice settings and utilise point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of experts.

The ALM is accredited for 40 QI&CPD Category 1 points and is also approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

The ALM runs from 8.30am till 4.30pm and will be offered to RACGP members at $495 (incl. GST). Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

RACGP Social Network - NT Health Agenda for General Practice

The RACGP SA&NT are proud to announce our first 'RACGP Social Network' event for the year - 'NT Health Agenda for General Practice in 2019'. This networking evening supported by NAB and Medfin will see NT GP Dr Tamsin Cockayne, NT PHN provide an update on the key areas of interest for general practice currently being addressed by the wider NT health stakeholder network while Stuart Robb from Mefin covers 'Banking on Health' and Laura Hartley from NAB discusses 'Cybersecurity Essentials'. This free networking event is open to all members and practice managers.
