Managing emergencies

Be prepared

Managing emergencies
Emergency events, natural disasters and business disruptions can impact a general practice’s business continuity and ability to provide essential healthcare services.

Practices that are prepared for an emergency are more likely to have effective care continuity arrangements for their patients while ensuring that business operations continue to run as smoothly as possible.

It is therefore important that practices have an up-to-date and tested emergency response plan in place so that they are prepared, well stocked and best positioned to respond to the crises and the health needs of their communities.

To complement this resource, a suite of factsheets on specific emergency related topics has also been developed. These factsheets are available for download below.
