Prostate cancer screening

Prostate cancer resource

Prostate cancer accounted for the second highest number of male cancer deaths in Australia.

Whilst the RACGP recommends against prostate cancer screening (as detailed in our Guidelines for preventive activities in general practice) we recognise many men will be asking their GPs about screening.

To help men have an informed discussion with their GP about the risks and potential benefits of prostate cancer screening, we have produced this patient information sheet.
