Summary
Date: 28 June 2019
The RACGP's submission to Australia’s Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy – 2020 and Beyond is informed by a position statement on antimicrobial stewardship that was released by the RACGP in 2017.
This addressed the objectives of the First National AMR Strategy and proposed activities that the RACGP could undertake to address the problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in primary care.
The college's recent submission supports the Strategy’s approach, emphasising the primacy of patient safety and the need for tailored education and strategies for general practice.
