AGPT registrars can commence applying to practices for the 2025.2 placement round through the Training Management System (TMS) from Monday, 28 April. Due to this, we are anticipating higher-than-usual traffic to our TMS. Although this may result in slower load times, we will actively be monitoring TMS performance and making necessary changes to remediate any issues. Submission to Inflammatory Bowel Disease National Action Plan

Page last updated 30 May 2019

Summary

Date: 11 December 2018

The RACGP has been invited to provide feedback on the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) National Action Plan, developed by Crohn's & Colitis Australia for the Australian Government Department of Health.

Crohn's & Colitis Australia held a national roundtable workshop of government and IBD stakeholders, completed a literature review on priority areas and conducted a stocktake of current national IBD quality improvement activities to produce this plan.

The RACGP has concerns that the draft Plan does not adequately address:

  • issues of access to specialists care, and
  • the role of primary care in managing IBD, particularly for people in rural and remote areas.
