The RACGP has provided a response to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care on the Psychotropic Medicines in Cognitive Disability or Impairment Clinical Care Standard. The RACGP’s response highlights the central role of GPs and their role in prescribing and managing the use of psychotropic medications. While this clinical care standard largely applies to those working in a hospital setting, we provide comments on the consultation questions from a primary care perspective.
