The RACGP has provided a response to the MBS Review Advisory Committee on the Post implementation review of changes to colonoscopy MBS items. The RACGP’s response states that:

  • communication with patients should be improved.
  • increasing access to GP-endoscopists and triaging referrals appropriately will improve equity of access. 
  • which health professional is responsible for reminders for repeat endoscopies needs to be clarified.
