The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is pleased to announce its 2014 Council Election results.

Commencing October 2014, Adjunct Associate Professor Frank Jones will assume the role of President of the RACGP. Dr Mark Miller will take on the role of Censor-in-Chief and Dr Nina Robertson the role of RACGP Registrar Representative.

Five nominations were received for the position of RACGP President, testament to the exceptional quality of leadership in the RACGP’s membership community.

President-elect A/Prof Frank Jones is a full time practising GP at Murray Medical Centre, Mandurah, Western Australia, and brings to the position 30 years of clinical experience in rural and regional Australia.

A/Prof Jones is committed to leading the RACGP with a focus on pro-active advocacy, guided by a strong evidence base.

Censor-in-Chief-elect Dr Mark Miller has practised at Goolwa Medical Centre in South Australia for over 21 years and in addition to his full time clinical role, teaches medical students and acts as an RACGP examiner.

Dr Miller was last year awarded 2013 RACGP General Practitioner of the Year and is keen to trial and develop new assessment methodologies for RACGP Fellowship Candidates to ensure the highest quality examination process.

Registrar Representative-elect Dr Nina Robertson was admitted as Fellow of the RACGP in 2014 and is a practising GP at Keen St Clinic in Lismore, New South Wales. During her training years, she worked as a Registrar Liaison Officer on the General Practice Registrar Australia (GPRA) Advisory Council.
