A perfect storm of factors, including an aging population, epidemic of chronic disease, and acute workforce shortages, is putting increasing pressure on Tasmania’s hospitals and wider health system, prompting the RACGP to make its first budget submission to the state government. Investing in primary care and general practice is key to improve the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians, and reduce pressure on the health system.
