Find out more about Dr Tony Bayliss

I joined the Council because I was concerned about how changes to primary care could adversely affect how I look after my patients and community.
I’d like to continue to try to remove the barriers that exist preventing GPs from looking after their patients according to their best judgement. I’d also like to further develop camaraderie and a sense of community among GPs.
I liked the autonomy and responsibility of looking after my patients in my own way and the ability to control my work environment to do so.
Either the time my patients named their goat after me (!) or starting a practice with my wife to help to look after the community we live in.
The change we’re looking for must start with ourselves in the first place – don’t wait for someone to fix something for you.
If I could have any superpower, it would be to speak Finnish.
