Dr Sally Cockburn is a practicing GP and health educator. She graduated MBBS from Monash University in 1982 and recently completed her Masters of Health And Medical Law from Uni Melbourne. Sally has also been a high-profile media presenter (Dr Feelgood) for over 30 years on radio, tv and in print. She has a strong commitment to Medical Education and has held various teaching positions. She is currently an adjunct Senior Lecturer in Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. She has a strong commitment to better health outcomes and social justice and behind the scenes has been involved in health policy and legislation reform. She has sat on some high profile not for profit boards Sally has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including a radio industry award for best documentary , the Monash University Alumni Service Award and in 2010 was inducted into the Victorian Women’s honour roll for harnessing the media to improve health communications. She is a sought after public speaker, MC and panel facilitator.
Bindiya started in a lead clinical role establishing a WHO pilot project against tuberculosis in India in a district of over 200k population immediately after her internship. She has been a clinical director and principal GP in the last few years. She has been involved in the education of medical students from Melbourne University and Monash University and was a committee member in the shared maternity care guidelines She has represented RACGP on Review of Perinatal Mental Health Screening Approaches and has been a Victorian Council member since 2021 and member of the Diabetes specific interest group since 2012. Bindiya is passionate about public health, health economics and policy.
David was appointed as Chief Medical Officer at Peter Mac in 2013, having previously held positions as Executive Director Clinical Services and Director of the Melanoma and Skin Service. David was intimately involved in the conception, design and build of Peter Mac’s Melbourne headquarters, helping to deliver a purpose-designed facility for patients with cancer. David is a practicing clinician working in the Breast and Melanoma and Skin services at Peter Mac, and in private practice. He has more than 20 years’ experience in both of these specialities. David is the State Clinical Director of BreastScreen Victoria and Chair of BreastScreen Victoria’s Quality and Accreditation Committee and a member of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Council representing melanoma and surgical oncology groups. David is actively involved in teaching programs for medical, nursing and allied health students from undergraduate to postgraduate levels. He sits on numerous government advisory, NHMRC guideline, and optimal cancer care pathway committees and is currently Deputy Chair of the NHMRC non-melanoma skin cancer guidelines committee. In 2022, David received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to medicine, particularly cancer treatment.
Amanda is the Head of Cancer Strategy in the Strategy and Support Division at Cancer Council Victoria. Through programs and partnerships with clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and people affected by cancer, she investigates inequities and advocates for reform that will improve cancer experiences and outcomes. Amanda has many years of leadership experience in clinical and public health roles across the Australian health care system. She contributes to health services research through publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. Her clinical background is in Respiratory and Sleep Science.
