Kelsey Hegarty is an academic general practitioner who holds the joint Chair in Family Violence Prevention at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Women's Hospital. She also co-chairs the Melbourne Research Alliance to End Violence against Women (MAEVe). Her research includes the evidence base for interventions to prevent violence against women, educational and complex interventions around identification of domestic and family violence in primary care settings, and early intervention with men, women and children exposed to abuse.

Jan Coles is a leading family violence educator both in Australia and internationally, having worked in clinical medicine and general practice for over 25 years. She currently chairs the Department of General Practice Research Committee at Monash University. ,

Jan’s research concentrates on gender-based violence education, women’s health and the impact of childhood sexual violence on early mothering. She has published extensively in the area, and served as an advisor for the World Health Organisation on gender-based violence teaching curriculum for health professionals.

Ronald Schweitzer is a general practitioner and lecturer in the Department of General Practice at Monash University. Ronald has run the Men’s Responsibility Group for over 25 years, a group for men who are violent and abusive to their partners and /or children. He has presented extensively on family abuse and violence both in Australia and overseas, having published a number of articles on the subject.Ronald is a member of No To Violence and the Australian Association of Family Therapists.

Caroline Johnson is a general practitioner and a senior lecturer in the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne. She has a strong interest in primary mental health care, having published a number of academic articles in the area. Caroline is the clinical mental health lead for the RACGP Expert Committee – Quality Care, and also a board member for Mental Health Australia.

Ronald McCoy is a general practitioner, medical writer and educator. He has published widely in general practice management and developed general practice education resources across a wide variety of media. He is the writer on the new RACGP Curriculum for General Practice and also serves as Education Strategy Senior Advisor at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Zena Burgess is the Chief Executive Officer of the RACGP. Zena holds a PhD in psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology, as well as an MBA. She began her career over 20 years ago working in regional Victoria as a community psychologist providing services to a large geographical region. Zena has worked in State and Federal Government roles in The Family Court Counselling Service and has also had a successful consulting career, working largely in areas related to personal and organisational change, primarily in public sector, health and allied health related organisations.
