Want to contribute to check?

Discover the rewarding opportunities and professional benefits of contributing your medical expertise as an author or reviewer for the RACGP's check program.

Each unit of check comprises approximately five clinical cases which cover the broad spectrum of the unit’s topic. Each unit will be led by a GP with an interest and capability in the topic, and they will scope the five different cases for that unit in collaboration with the check team.

Authors will have the chance to showcase their expertise by crafting well-researched and insightful clinical case studies that will be used as educational resources by fellow general practitioners. Reviewers also play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of the educational content.

From 2025, authors will achieve six CPD hours (three hours' Educational Activities [EA] and three hours' Reviewing Performance [RP]) for each case they write. Unit coordinators achieve 15 hours (seven hours’ EA and eight hours’ RP) in total. Unit coordinators who also write a case achieve 21 hours (10 hours' EA and 11 hours' RP), based on one written case, with a maximum of 25 hours for any additional cases. Subject matter expert reviewers achieve three CPD hours (one hour EA and two hours’ RP) for each case they review.
