Self-care for GPs

On-demand recorded 14 Mar 2024

Self-care is vital for all GPs’ health and wellbeing, and looking after your physical, mental, emotional, and social health can help to mitigate the risks of being affected by work-related stress, burnout, and mental health problems.

This webinar, presented by Dr Adele Stewart, a GP and accredited Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher, will discuss various self-care strategies you can implement, and will explore the evidence-based benefits and nuances of mindfulness.

As part of this webinar, you’ll be invited to participate in a 15–20-minute mindfulness meditation practice. There will also be an opportunity for a dedicated Q&A to have all of your questions answered.

Learning outcomes

  1. Outline the importance of GP self-care and identify your own future needs
  2. Describe both the research-proven benefits of mindfulness and misconceptions about mindfulness vs relaxation
