Dr Walid Jammal

Dr Walid Jammal is the principal GP in a well established general practice in suburban Sydney, where he supervisors GP registrars and medical students. His special interests include paediatrics, men’s health, medico-legal matters and quality and safety control in general practice.
He is a member of various committees and advisory bodies with the Ministry of Health in NSW and Commonwealth Department of Health. He is a member of the Medicare Services Advisory Committee, was a member of the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce, and was co-Chair of the Primary Care Reform Steering Group that informed the Commonwealth's Ten-Year Primary Care Plan. He is a Board member of the Western Sydney Local Health District as well as the Western Sydney Primary Health Network.
Simon Cotterell
First Assistant Secretary, Primary Care Division, Department of Health and Aged Care
is the First Assistant Secretary of the Primary Care Division in the Department of Health. Simon has worked for over 30 years in government. Over the last 19 years in Health, Simon has led work on primary care reform; health payments integrity; global and regional health issues; drug, alcohol and tobacco policy; health financing; health security; the blood supply; organ and tissue donation; and a range of other health system issues. Prior to Health, Simon worked for a decade as a policy adviser in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in various areas of social policy and international relations.
