Build on your dermatological surgery techniques

GPs play a vital role in diagnosing and managing common skin conditions (including skin cancer), making techniques in dermatological surgery an essential skillset for every GP. Maximise your clinical knowledge and enhance your surgery techniques with the RACGP’s comprehensive two-day dermatological surgery workshop and online training open to GPs of all skill levels.

This 2 day workshop will provide you with hands-on training in small group practical sessions performing basic surgery and flap repairs on pigs' bellies.

Pre-requisite: Participants must complete online course DermCert 4: Practical procedures in dermatology before attending the workshop. The registration fee includes DermCert 4 and the two day workshop.

Learning outcomes

Analyse a range of dermatological surgical techniques used in general practice.
Determine when to use non-surgical treatments for skin cancer, including complications and risks. Review set up of clinic for surgical procedures and other specific requirements.
Perform a range of various dermatological surgical techniques.
Review strategies to implement risk management procedures.
Analyse a range of advanced dermatological surgical techniques used in general practice.
Review closure options by anatomical site.
Perform different flap surgical techniques.
