Flexible eLearning Modules – Learn at Your Own Pace

Gain essential skills through our on-demand eLearning modules, designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to support families affected by violence.

Available Modules:

Module 1: Identifying and Responding to Family Violence (1 Hour)
Learn to recognise the signs of family violence, conduct sensitive screenings, and provide safe, supportive responses in a healthcare setting. Gain practical guidance on referrals and connecting patients with appropriate services.

Module 2: Family Violence Among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (0.5 Hour)
Understand the unique challenges faced by Indigenous communities, explore culturally safe engagement strategies, and learn about the historical and social factors contributing to family violence.

Module 3: MARAM and Information Sharing Schemes (1 Hour)
Discover how to navigate the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework and legally share information to enhance patient safety and collaboration across agencies.

Module 4: People Who Use Family Violence (1 Hour)
Gain insights into the behaviours and motivations of individuals who use violence, learn how to conduct risk assessments, and explore intervention strategies to support behavioural change.

Learning outcomes

  1. Examine the various forms of family violence.
  2. Identify indicators that a person might be experiencing family abuse or violence.
  3. Manage patient’s disclosure of information relevant to family violence in a sensitive and timely manner.
  4. Understand the importance of cultural safety when addressing FV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people communities.
  5. Recognise the effects of intergenerational trauma and colonisation in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people families experiencing family violence.
  6. Understand the MARAM framework in providing collaborative team-based care with other professionals when managing FV.
  7. Recognise the indications and procedures for mandatory reporting.
  8. Understand how to identify adults who use family violence Understand how to share and/or request information about adults who use family violence.
  9. Know how to conduct safe consultations with people who use family violence.
  10. Understand perpetrator specific MARAM guidelines including managing consent.
