Dr David Carey

Dr Carey has been involved in clinical research and treatment of obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes since 1990. He has authored national and international publications. He graduated in both Science and Medicine at the University of New South Wales, winning the University Medal in Medicine.

Post graduates study was at St Vincent’s Hospital & The Garvan institute, Sydney He moved to Brisbane in 1996 taking up the post of senior lecturer and then acting director of the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Princess Alexandra Hospital and also held an appointment as Associate Professor at UQ. In 2006 Dr Carey established the multidisciplinary Health+ Diabetes clinic in Spring Hill.

He has an interest in treatment programs that promote weight loss and reverse diabetes.
