This session will provide a practical approach to improving your knowledge, skills and confidence in the diagnosis of dementia in general practice. We will introduce a series of useful frameworks and demonstrate how these frameworks can be applied through a case study.  The value of implementing a brain health check as part of the 45 – 49 year health assessment will also be discussed

Learning Outcomes:

2.    Explain the trajectory of dementia by applying the Stages Framework
3.    Apply the Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria Frameworks in assessing patients for a possible diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Dementia
4.    Investigate risk factor reduction with a brain health check
