RACGP Submission - National Primary Health Care Strategic Framework 2012

5 October 2012

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) thanks the Department of Health and Ageing for the opportunity to contribute to discussion regarding the National Primary Health Care Strategic Framework Consultation Draft.

The RACGP seeks Federal Government consideration of its response to the proposed priorities for joint action between the Commonwealth and State Governments which aim to:

  • build a consumer focused integrated primary healthcare system
  • improve access and reduce inequity
  • increase the focus on prevention, screening, and early intervention, and
  • improve quality, safety, performance, and accountability.

The College is committed to working with all levels of government and stakeholders to improve access to high quality care to better meet the needs of our local communities.
