Paediatrics Update ALM for GPs

Through the generosity of the 'Dr Bruce Roberts Bequest', the RACGP Queensland New Fellows Committee will be hosting a Paediatrics update for GPs active learning module (ALM) in Cairns on Saturday 17 November 2018.

The workshop is aimed at registrars, new Fellows and experienced GPs.

This ALM will focus on updating skills and knowledge, together with identifying and developing appropriate management plans, for common paediatric presentations, such as:

- ear health for children
- ophthalmology for children
- sleep problems in childhood
- common puberty presentations
- developmental milestones.


Places are limited.


Paediatrics update for GPs is currently pending accreditation for 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points.

CPR Workshop - Brisbane - Tuesday 4 December 2018

This two-hour workshop, facilitated by BLS First Aid, will incorporate HLTAID001 'Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation' in accordance with the 2016 ARC Guidelines.

This workshop will cover:

  • DRSABCD Action Plan
  • management of the breathing, unresponsive casualty
  • management of the non-breathing, unresponsive casualty
  • resuscitation of an adult, child and infant
  • introduce the use of a defibrillator.

*Please note: To complete assessment of CPR you must be physically able to perform two minutes of continuous CPR on the floor. If you are unable to do so due to physical limitations, please contact us to discuss your options to meet your CPR requirement.

Webinar: Type 2 Diabetes Management and Prescribing

"What's next after metformin?" -- This webinar aims to answer the most common question GPs ask regarding the management of type 2 diabetes.

This one day highly interactive workshop focuses on recognition and management of medical emergencies in general practice, including acute coronary syndrome, acute asthma, anaphylaxis and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which meets the 2017-19 triennium basic CPR course requirement. It also meets the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) training requirements for general practice registrars and RACGP Fellowship.

61st Clinical Update Weekend

RACGP Queensland invites you to save the date for the 61st Clinical Update Weekend, which will be held in the Brisbane CBD on Friday and Saturday 3 - 4 May 2019 (Labour Day weekend).

This two-day event will offer education and collegiality for GPs and those working towards a career in general practice.

The Clinical Update Weekend is an annual event developed by RACGP Queensland for Queensland members.
