Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Canberra

The 'Introduction to point-of-care ultrasound for rural GPs' Active Learning Module (ALM) is designed to support rural GPs to increase their understanding of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound in the diagnostic process. The training is delivered by rural GPs and sonographers who are experienced in using ultrasound in their practice environment.

This full-day ALM will give general practice registrars and rural & remote GPs the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in rural general practice settings and utilise point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of experts.

The ALM is accredited for 40 QI&CPD Category 1 points and is also approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

The ALM runs from 8.30am till 4.30pm and will be offered to RACGP members at $495 (incl. GST). Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Venue: College House, level 7, 12 Mount Street North Sydney NSW 2060

Time: 7.00pm - 9.15pm

Cost: RACGP members: $80, Non-members: $95

This course is designed to provide GPs with the necessary Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) knowledge and skills as required in the 2017 - 19 RACGP QI&CPD triennium. These RACGP courses are nationally accredited and presented by ReViva First Aid. Certificates in CPR are issued on completion of the respective course.

Substance Use and Mental Health in General Practice

Mental illness can make a person more likely to misuse substances, and substance misuse can impact mental health. This 40 point Category 1 QI&CPD ALM will assist general practitioners with understanding the interaction between mental health and addiction medicine, and familiarise them with the tools to assist patients.
