Mechanical aid to circumcision invented in mid 1930’s but was still in use in the 1960’s. Originally called Gomco Clamp but was re-named in the mid-1950’s. The bell shaped end was forced through the foreskin onto the glans and then hooked up into the groove. Then the screw at the other end was tightened, garrotting the foreskin and at the same time hopefully sealing off all the blood vessels. The final insult was to use a scalpel blade to make the final severance.
