AGPT registrars can commence applying to practices for the 2025.2 placement round through the Training Management System (TMS) from Monday, 28 April. Due to this, we are anticipating higher-than-usual traffic to our TMS. Although this may result in slower load times, we will actively be monitoring TMS performance and making necessary changes to remediate any issues. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Surgical tools and equipment

Category items

Items shown in this category relate to a broad range of surgical activities which have traditionally been performed in general practice settings. These instruments, and the procedures they support, are not divisible from surgery as performed in hospitals and other theatre contexts. Nevertheless, surgical procedure has been a staple activity within general practice, although its frequency has declined since the expansion of the hospital sector in the mid-twentieth century.
