Description

This stethoscope was manufactured by the Thackray Leeds Company in the United Kingdom in 1960. It is made from stainless steel, bakelite and rubber and is based on the Rappaport-Sprague stethoscope prototype. The chestpiece of this item comprises of two components for observing two different forms of ‘auscultation’ (body noise). Application of the cup (at side) produces low-frequency sounds, while the disc (at top) produces high-frequency sounds.
