Description

Aural forceps are used for the removal of foreign bodies and for relief of aural inflammatory pressure where medication is deemed ineffective. The first forceps designed for the ear are thought to have been manufactured during medieval times. These original designs were substantially modified as a result of the otological studies of Sir Astley Cooper at the turn of the 19th century. The item shown is thought to have been manufactured in the United Kingdom in approximately1930.
