Doctor’s bag

A brown leather doctor’s bag with internal pockets and instrument loops and external pockets and pull-out drawers for  therapeutic items and a steriliser.  The bag contains a full set of equipment including diagnostic instruments, surgical tools and a range of medicines as would have been needed by a country doctor in the 1940s to 1970s to manage childbirth, accidents, emergencies and infectious diseases usually in the patient’s home.
