Nominations now open to join RACGP Expert Committees

Nominations are now open for eligible RACGP members to join the RACGP Expert Committees (RECs).

The RECs contribute expertise in specific areas to the development of RACGP position statements, submissions, guidelines, resources and tools aimed at supporting the general practice profession.

The following five RECs are seeking nominations:


The RACGP is also calling for nominations for the Chair for each of these committees.

All nominations close 21 July 2024 at 5pm AEST [3 weeks after opening].


What does it mean to be a REC member?

As a REC member, you will play a critical role in providing advice and expertise to the RACGP Board and executive team. You will use your knowledge skills and experience to shape your College and Australian general practice.

You will be a member of the committee for a three-year period commencing at the RACGP Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held 21 November 2024.


What does it mean to be a Chair?

As a Chair you will take on a leadership role within the RECs. This involves conducting regular meetings of the committee, supporting policy and strategy across the RACGP and advising on the implementation of key strategic initiatives.

You will be Chair for a three-year period commencing at the RACGP AGM, to be held 21 November 2024. Further information on the role and eligibility is available in the REC Chair role description.


How to nominate:

Please note, only RACGP members who are financial members as of 1 July 2024 are eligible to apply.

To nominate to join the RECs, first read the following background materials:

Then send your completed nomination form along with your current CV to the RACGP via recapplication@racgp.org.au

If you wish to nominate for multiple positions for a committee (e.g. REC member and Chair), then you should fill out the application form for the Chair position and you will also be considered for a committee member position. If you wish to nominate for positions on multiple committees, then you will need to fill out forms for each committee and each position.
