In my career I have worked as an intern in Shepparton; DRANZCOG at the Royal Women’s Hospital; GP training rotations in community health centres, inner-city, outer-suburban and rural settings; terms in palliative care and paediatrics; various locums – mainly in rural settings and as a self-employed GP in outer suburban practices since obtaining my fellowship.

When not working as a GP I am an elected representative on my local council, where I have gained over the last 8 years an increased knowledge of both health in a local government setting, as well as an increase in governance and political skills.

Through my time on the faculty, I have been involved in work around improving clinical handover, both in trying to improve the ability to refer to hospitals and specialist, without needing to resort to multiple different lengthy templates and the use of a facsimile machine, as well as improve the quality and timeliness of discharge summaries from hospitals and the use of digital technology.
